Healthy Habits Holiday Tips!

With all the social events and holiday gatherings for some people, doing a lot of not so healthy eating habits starts in October and doesn’t end until January. Some may completely let go, gain some weight, and are way to busy for the gym or yoga classes. 

 

Here are some holiday do's and don'ts:

 

  • I don't recommend staying on a strict diet during the holiday season and deprive yourself of eating your favorite dishes because most times people end up wanting, and eating them more. Especially after a drink or two!

  • Don't skip meals throughout the day, this may result in overeating later.

  • I do recommend being aware of what you eat instead of mindlessly grazing at holiday parties.

  • Take smaller plates and smaller portions. Eat two pieces of cheese from the cheese platter instead of five. Try just a couple bites of the dip instead of filling a plate. Take three bites of your favorite dessert instead of a whole piece of pie. 

  • Eat slowly and taste every bite.

  • Include lots of fiber by eating fruits, vegetables - this DOES NOT

     

     mean Jello and fruit cake!
